X98 3G Outstanding GPS Performance

Teclast is the first choice for digital products in the local market. The brand has recently released its latest flagship product X98 3G Ultrapad. Teclast X98 3G is an industry leading 9.7 inch Retina display tablet which supports both W-CDMA 3G network and GPS navigation. It is much easier to discover your next destination through a large 9.7 inch Retina display and built-in GPS module. In order to test its GPS performance, we used a professional app ‘GPS Test Plus’ to run the test and compare its performance with Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z and Meizu MX3. Above devices are the flagship Android mobile phones of last year with lots of users. We performed the test in outdoor to receive better GPS signal for all the devices.

At first, let's take a look at the test results of mentioned mobile phones. As we know a device needs at least three GPS connections to locate the position. The smaller number of accuracy (feet) that the test app displays, the higher accuracy the device provides. The accuracy test results of Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4 are both the same which is 52 feet, meanwhile Meizu MX3 is 39 feet which means it is relatively more accurate. For the number of satellite connections, both Xperia Z and Galasy S4 have twenty satellites in view and eleven of them are able to be use. On the other hand, Meizu MX3 has thirteen satellites in view but only five of them can be connected. For the signal strength test, the best one is Meizu MX3 (39) compared with Xperia Z (35) and Galaxy S4 (36).

Now turn to Teclast X98 3G. After opened the test app for 15 seconds, it showed the accuracy is 39 feet. One minute later, the accuracy increased to 26 feet! In addition, although it has the same eleven satellites in use, the GPS signal strength is above 40 of all the connections and the maximum value is 48! Overall, apparently Teclast X98 3G achieved better GPS performance compared with Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z and Meizu MX3. It is quite unexpected!
